Design, Installation and Commissioning
Following are brief details of a selection of Avid’s recent large scale projects that demonstrate our capacity to provide custom turnkey solutions to not only meet industry standards, but to pioneer innovative solutions to meet complex specifications.

2 x 3512 Caterpillar Generator. Installation of all internal fixtures and fittings in the 2 generator enclosures, including control panel and Circuit breaker panels. A fire protection systems was also installed in both enclosures.

The $320 million West Kimberley Power Project (WKPP) comprises five power stations – four fueled by LNG – and the LNG plant at Karratha and associated road transport infrastructure.
With an initial generating capacity of 61 MW (multiple Caterpillar G3520C, G3516C and G3412 enclosed island mode gas fired generator packages and Caterpillar and Cummins diesel fired generators), potentially growing to 92 MW over 20 years, the project is supplying electricity to more than 27,000 people in the resource-rich, but isolated West Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Avid established the Electric Generator Module (EGM) commissioning procedures and documentation for the complete project and provided the WKPP EGM commissioning manager as well as senior technicians to drive the final installation, tuning, commissioning and performance testing of the EGM mechanical, electrical and control systems across all five sites; a 22 month commitment from equipment factory testing to power stations handover.
During the course of the project, Avid was also called upon to provide additional services covering specialised hazardous area equipment installation and inspection as well as general power station construction, installation and testing.
With the WKPP stations now on line and providing power, Avid’s involvement continues in the form of specialised routine maintenance.
1 x Caterpillar 3516B HD DITA (2000kW p.u.) and 1 x Caterpillar C18 (560kW p.u.) enclosed emergency diesel generator packages with custom local and remote control panels. Petroleum application.
Responsibilities,
7 x Caterpillar G3516 TA (980kW p.u.) dual fuel CNG / LPG custom generator sets with local control panels and gas trains.
1 x Caterpillar G3512 DITA (794bkW p.u.) natural gas generator with stainless steel cyclone proof enclosure, two custom free standing stainless steel cyclone proof IP66 control panels (one for new generator and one for existing) and additional upgrade of existing generator control systems. Petroleum application.
